Gallery Agreement

The artist appoints the Gallery to act as the artist’s non-exclusive agent in the geographic area Gurgaon for exhibition and sales of artworks. The artist shall be free to exhibit anywhere and sell any work not consigned to Gallery under this contract. However, the artist cannot sell the work consigned to the Gallery in the said geographical location for a minimum period of 4 months.

The Gallery shall make reasonable and good-faith efforts to promote the sale of Artworks and undertake other promotional activities on behalf of the Artist.

Duration of consignment

Artist hereby provides to the gallery, and the Gallery accepts works on approval, as listed in Appendix A for a period of four months. Thereafter, the Artworks may continue until the Artist requests the return of the Artworks, or Gallery requests that the Artist takes back any or all of the Artworks, with which request the other party will comply promptly.


All exhibits must be signed, original works of the artist and must be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Works should be clearly labeled on the back with the artist’s name, the title and year.

All paintings must be dry, framed or professionally presented and ready to be hung using the Gallery hanging system unless otherwise agreed with the Gallery.

Artworks will be hung for each exhibition by the Art Pilgrim hanging team, as arranged by the Gallery Directors or curator.

Commissions, Prices, and Payments

Artists are responsible for costs incurred in the delivery of their artworks, and for insurance in transit if required unless otherwise agreed. Art Pilgrim will take care of works at the gallery but accepts no liability for theft or damage of artworks while in transit, storage, and handling.

Art Pilgrim Live charges a commission that is agreed with the artist for representation and sales. Please be sure to allow for this in calculating your final sale price.

The Gallery agrees to sell the Artist’s works at the retail prices shown on the Record of for Approval note.

Although it is a non-exclusive contract, Artist’s suggested price is expected to be consistent with one outside the Gallery. Any change in the retail price must be agreed to in advance by Artist and Gallery.

The will retain Gallery’s right to make customary trade discounts to select purchasers such as museums and collectors. This will be discussed with the artist. The Gallery shall pay the Artist all proceeds due to the Artist within 30 days of receipt of payment from the buyer.

The Gallery shall take all steps necessary to ensure that the Artist’s copyright of the consigned works is protected. In the event of the purchase of any work by a party other than the Gallery, title shall pass directly from the Artist to the other party. In the event of the purchase of any work by the Gallery, title shall pass after payment to the Artist of all sums due hereunder.

The Artist reserves all rights to the reproduction of the Artworks except as noted in writing to the contrary.

The Artist agrees to provide an authenticity certificate for the works at any point to the Gallery and guarantees that the works are original works.

Term and Termination

The agreement shall last for a term of 2-years but can be terminated by either party giving sixty days written the notice. On termination, artworks consigned for provided for approval shall be returned to the Artist at the expense of the Gallery.


The agreement will be governed by the laws of Haryana. All disputes arising under the Agreement shall be submitted accordingly, and the arbitration award may be entered for judgment in any court having jurisdiction.
