What is miniature art? Often referred to as small highly detailed works, is usually exquisite in colour with a strength of composition that puts many large works to shame! The man has been fascinated with miniatures for a long time. Ancient Greeks painted their walls and Indian miniatures have held their own since the arrival of the Mughals in the 16th century.
Modern miniatures have retained the realistic figurative feel, but would one do this differently to truly reflect culture and styles of our time? How would you look at your work in a smaller format?
Inspired by small formats, our rich art history and its evolution through the ages – “16.10” celebrates individuality, progress and work in a small scale. We would like you to take part in this unique and thought-provoking exhibition.
